CHAPTER 18

LISA'S POV

That night as I lay down in bed, I pull the covers of the bedsheet up past my shoulders and bury my head deeper into the pillow to get a little bit of warmth. The motel room is freezing. The air conditioners in the room were really working effectively. Extremely well in fact. I was guessing Jonas had something to do with it, the motel room wasn't as cold as this yesterday.

All the same, I was grateful. I look out the window, the moon was shining brightly tonight, I hope it was a sign of something good. I tried to guess the time without looking at the clock chiming adjacent to my bed. I know it has to be somewhere around three in the morning. I tried to sleep for a little longer but I couldn't. Maybe it was the cold or something else, I couldn't place my finger on it.
