CHAPTER 32

Lisa's POV

When we got back to the estate, Kayden accompanied me to my room before he went off to attend another meeting. I shut the door and locked it behind me when I got inside, and I fell face-first onto my bed. I groan, getting slobber on my comforter. I then chastised myself for drooling like a little child.

I could still hear our shared laughter in my subconscious. I just went out to lunch with the number one citizen in the country. The man who was supposed to be my rival was taken down because he stood for everything I wanted to take down. I couldn't believe what had happened in the past few hours. It couldn't be real. If I had told Abraham what had happened, he would have laughed in my face. I groaned again, but the past few hours had been real, utterly real.

And the most confusing part about it all was that I had no words to describe how I felt about the whole thing.

I stretch out my hand to push myself off my bed
