A Betrayal

Lydia Richmond’s POV

I was still talking with him when I heard a knock at the door. This was unexpected but I had to know what it is about.

“Open the door!” I shouted. I expected a guard or even a maid but none of this happened. It was Beatrice.

As I saw her entering, I stood up. I was really shocked since I wasn’t expecting her in the first place. I wondered what she would be doing in my office when she had a truckload of issues currently.

“Get out!” Beatrice shouted at my bodyguard. “I have something to say to your lady. Make sure the door is protected.”

This looked as a scheme and as he stepped out, I focused on Beatrice. I was trying my best to tell what she was doing in my office. I couldn’t find something tangible and this made me resort into listening to her.

“What are you doing here? I think you have a lot of things to deal with. I shouldn’t be any of your paramount goals if you ask me!” I exclaimed. I was trying to read her movements.
