Bella's eyes fell to my neck and her brows furrowed. Her jaw tensed and she turned around without another word and left the room.

I walked over to the mirror and looked at my neck. Damiens mark was fading.

I ran my fingers over it softly and it wasn't warm anymore. That’s why I cared about Percy, that’s what this mark was doing to me.

Oh my god.

This mark is making me not care about anyone other than Damien. That’s what Emma told me to fight. If he found out, he’d mark me all over again.

Bella was going to tell him.

I ran out into the hall and saw her by the stairs.

”Wait,” I grabbed her arm and yanked her back. I saw the flesh wounds when her shirt rose, they were healing but they still looked gruesome, she had been in a fight.

”Don’t tell him about-” I placed my finger on the mark because I knew that if I said it, someone would hear and Damien would know within seconds.

”I don’t think you’ve fully grasped how this works. We don't get to decide,” She seethed.
