I woke up long before dawn Wednesday morning, ready to get started on my peacemaking mission and attempt to facilitate an alliance between the two packs. This was going to be fun. I had never done this before, but I knew how to keep myself and my mate calm. If I could reason with him and his brother to get them to calm down and be open to change, I could surely do the same with Alpha Conner. The morning went very well. Jessie and I peeled potatoes and put them on to boil and set up our breading station for the chicken fried steak. At eleven o-clock, I called my mate to come crank the ice cream maker. When he got to our suite, I had already set up the ice cream maker and sat him down in front of it, telling him to tell me when it gets hard to crank. While he was cranking, Jessie and I started making the chicken fried steaks, then I showed her how to whip the mashed potatoes and make milk gravy. After we were done with all that, I noticed that it was time to start the peach cobbler. After the butter was melted in the pan that we were using for it, I explained, “We are just going to mix our mixture of equal parts, self-rising flour, sugar and milk then pour it into the melted butter and add the peaches on top.
