The next morning, I woke up to an empty bed. It was still dark, but my mate was gone. I sat up and looked around, but I couldn’t see or hear anyone. I walked out of the bedroom and looked around the suite. I found him in the kitchen, making breakfast. I smiled, “That’s my job, love.” He laughed, “I know, but you need your sleep.” I sighed, “Baby, I just spent two weeks in a hospital bed. I really don’t want to spend so much time in bed. I would like to take a shower before you leave though… if you don’t mind.” He smiled, “I purposely waited to take my shower for that exact reason. I will never be accused of missing the chance to shower with my mate.” I laughed and groaned and he cringed, “Still pretty sore?” I held my ribs and nodded. He sighed, “I’m sorry love.
