Chapter 36

Nora

Alpha Raphael and Klaus led me to the office where the peace treaty would be signed. When we got in, my eyes scanned the area, noticing how slightly large the office was. There were two beautiful flower vases by the door.

Two long black cushions flanked the sides of the room. The desk was situated close to the wall at the far end of the office. The wall had a window with long black curtains draped to the sides. The white walls were immaculate, making the room an ambient shade of white and black.

I was offered one of the seats behind the desk. My first instinct was to decline the offer as I would rather remain standing, but on second thought, I decided to do as told. I would do all I needed to do; after all, it would all come to an end today. I pulled the chair out and sat down.

Klaus was by my side, looming over me like some kind of personal guard. His father went around the desk and sat behind the swing chair. As soon as he was seated, he shoved a document across to me.
