Chapter 17 – First Job

Melissa made plenty of preparations. She did research the company but it’s not as if she can tell what the employees would be like when she gets in. Her lip twitched.

Well, since Lily could bear working for the company for over a year now, it’s probably not that bad.

For some reason, she felt nervous when she handed in her resume. She tried focusing her attention elsewhere but she’s still bothered by it.

“What’s gotten into you?” Klyde asked her one night. He’s still working on a document at his study when she showed up. She was somewhat restless, even when she’s just trying to read a book.

“What do you mean?” She asked back.

“You look out of it. You seem anxious about something.” Though they’ve only known each other for a short while, he could tell something is different about her this time.

She pursed her lips, contemplating whether she could tell him or not. Well, letting it out helps, right?

“I have applied to a company I want to work in. My friend is there, so it should be good.
