Fifty six

Alex drove down to Steph’s house. After several minutes, he was there. He tried calling Steph on the phone again before getting down from the car but she wasn’t picking up her phone.

He got down from the car and walked towards the door. He knocked on the door twice and then heard the knob behind the door being opened.

Steph’s mum opened the door.

“Hello ma’m, please is Steph in?” He asked.

“No, she isn’t. I thought she was coming to see you,” she said.

“She left.”

“Is anything the matter?” She asked.

“We had an argument and she left thereafter. Thought she would be home,” he explained.

“She isn’t,” her mum answered, worried about what could be wrong.

“Thank you ma,” Alex said.

“Have a good evening,” he added.

“You too son,” she said and then closed the door behind her.

Alex went back to his car, wondering where Steph could be. He decided to go back home and keep trying her phone till she picks.
