Twenty six

After the previous day, Alex had been doing a lot of thinking. It scared him more than it excites him but he was wanting it more than he initially did.

Alex sat on the couch in the living room. He held the picture from the scan that Steph had given him since the other day.

He hadn't opened it since then and had decided to have a look at it now.

He dropped the glass of wine that was in his hands on the table next to him. He brought the films out of where it was kept and he stared long into the pictures.

He could delineate some parts of the pictures and how curled up like a seed the baby was in it. He was fascinated by it.

"It looks unreal right?" Alex turned his head to see who it was that spoke and saw that it was Lucy.

Lucy moved towards where he was sitting and sat next to him.

"Yes, it does," he said.

"She held my hands on her tummy yesterday and I felt the baby kick. It felt magical," Alex explained and Lucy could see the spark in his eyes when he spoke about it.
