Chapter 44

It was midday and the sun was playing tricks on the inhabitants of Purple City.

One moment it would come out in its full glory and brighten up the city. And just before anyone could marvel at its brightness, it would go away and make it seem as though it was dusk.

But the tricks of the sun could not influence Charles and Fiona.

Earlier, Fiona had suggested they move into Charles' bedroom he once shared with Tracy. And upon sober reflection, her husband thought she had a point and agreed to move back into his former bedroom.

But Fiona would want that to happen on her terms, so she suggested a few changes be made in the bedroom before they moved in.

"Careful with that," Fiona said, instructing Theophilus and David as the two men held on to the edges of a king-size mattress and slowly moved from the ground floor to the upper floor where the bedroom was.
