Chapter 23: We're being followed

She immediately headed to the elevator and as soon as it opened, she felt someone push her gently into the elevator. She turned and saw that it was Daira who had pushed her.

The latter then pushed a button that turned off the power to the elevator. This was what she was talking about. She wasn’t ready to become enemies with someone over Lucas.

“I’m sorry I pushed you,” Daira apologized, shocking Kiandra. “I want to talk to you,” she started.

“Listen, I’m sorry for the way Lucas spoke to you. I’m his executive assistant and there’s nothing more than that,” Kiandra quickly explained.

“Calm down, I’m not here to fight with you,” Daira chuckled, and Kiandra squinted her eyes at her as she wasn’t quite convinced. “I trust Lucas, so you don’t have to worry.”

“Lucas is someone who likes to keep to himself and it takes a toll on his health, thus causing people like me who care about him to worry unnecessarily,” Daira started.
