Chapter 8: The Unwanted Dinner

Every time I see him chatting up another woman while I stand in the background and watch, my heart breaks a little more.

Even though it's lunchtime, I don't feel hungry at all. For sure, I'd say Archer is already fucking or done fucking the chick that entered his office just now. I'm delighted that our lunch took precedence early on, giving me enough time to rest for a little while.

My head was resting on the table as I eat biscuits in my chair, rather than walking outside to sit with my coworkers, listening plastic comments from them. It took about an hour before employees started trickling back in, some of them with a chuckle on their faces. I raised my head and watched one of the mean girls who is always talking about me behind my back leave the room.
