Uncomfortable situation

Vanessa's POV

Lora stuttered in surprise, “Y-you don’t have to do that, Mr. Darnell, I’m sure Miss Sterling can just follow the instructions and do a few stretches before she calls it a wrap for today.”

I glanced at her and abruptly nodded, my pulse running a marathon on my neck. There was no way Rodri could take my fitness trainer’s place. Even if it was just for today.

I could barely handle being so close to him, when he was all raw, sweaty and sexy in the gym. Not to mention having him watch me while I stretch and work out. My body and soul would not be able to handle that level of torture and anxiety.

Rodri responded to Lora in a tone that showed that his mind was made up. “I don’t have to, but I want to. You go ahead.”

She glanced at me, as if sensing my discomfort. If I could have pleaded with her with my eyes, I would have done so, but that would only make me selfish. She was a mother, and her child was sick right now. She had to go.
