Lisa on the Run

LISA'S POV

"Where the heck did you go, Lisa!" Chantel yelled into the phone and I jerked it away from my ears.

"Settle down, girl! That yell can get me deaf into New Years'," I rolled my eyes. "I'm on a vacation-"

"Without informing anyone?" her tone was high and she sounded angry. "You didn't even take any of Madam Alex's calls."

"Yes, yes, I know that," I rubbed my forehead and fell back on my bed. "It was a last minute vacation." I just had to disappear. After that stunt with Parker? I didn't have the balls to stay back in town.

I was living well here. The escape money was enough to last me for a week and once I got a buyer for that bag, I'd be well for another week.

"Miguel is worried," Chantel said and I scoffed at her silly attempt to squeeze information out from me. "Didn't things go as planned?"

"Like hell it did!" I cursed. Once again, Miguel was planning on keeping tabs on me. The bastard was worried I had kept the money all to myself. "Look, I just need to breathe for a while, I'll be back in at most… a week or two-"

"Lisa, it's already been five days!" she reminded me. "After you were picked up by that billionaire, you vanished. Unlike you, he's been coming back ever since-"

I sat up in bed, "Really?" she affirmed it and I started to wonder what exactly his deal was. "Well, you have him now-"

"He won't even let any other person step close to him. Dude has it bad for you-"

"Cap!" I snorted. "He's just interested in dancers. Just send anyone to dance and he'll be fine."

"I tried going in but his stuck up bodyguard wouldn't let me," she said in her defence. "What have you done to him?"

I shrugged, wishing I could find an answer to that question too. If he was hellbent on collecting the money, he wouldn't be sitting idle while I ran free in another state. He would be on my tail with cops and underground men.

"Look, just try to get back soon, I miss you,"

No, she didn't. She missed me making money for her boyfriend so he wouldn't touch some of hers at the end of the day. Chantel and Miguel were in a very strange relationship that while I tried not to analyse it, the information would slam me across the face.

"Yeah, right. I gotta go now. Later," I hung up and dumped the phone by my head. I stared at the ceiling, thinking of the tight spot I had thrown myself in.

Parker was serious when he told me never to show my face before Richard again. The minute I accepted the money, I got home to find that my things had been parked and there was a plane ticket lying on one of my travelling boxes.

"Rich bastards," I muttered and curled up in bed staring into the distance. I was reminded of his eyes and how much I had stared into them. It would take a while to forget that.

His quiet attitude was intriguing and his gentleness was on a whole other level. He acted like he was fascinated by everything. Actually, he acted like he was curious about everything I did.

I had never had anyone stare at me so intently without even a touch of…lust.

Wait a minute! I jumped to sit. "I've never noticed a boner," I gasped at the realisation and I clenched my fist. "What the fuck! I am a fucking seductress! Everyone wants to have a piece of my ass. Why has he never-"

Was he impotent?

"Tch! It's none of my business anyways," I fell back on the bed, crossed my legs with my hands behind my head. "That was good money well spent," I told myself and after a while I decided to head outside to get something to eat.

I was lodged in a decent hotel and while I tried to hide away here, I also looked for my next prey. If I was really going to give up on Billionaire money- which I doubt I was- I needed someone to toy with for the next couple of weeks.

"Too bad I didn't get enough," I mumbled to myself, suddenly feeling that I should've dared Parker a little more. But the man had pulled out ten thousand dollars just to get me far away, surely he had some more left to hide a dead body.

"He got lucky! I should've sucked him dry," I pouted and moved in the busy street with my hands in my pocket. I was wearing a yellow hoodie and a black tennis skirt with thigh high boots.

It was already night time and I better go find something to eat.

I glanced around and I froze when I saw someone familiar from across the street. His back was turned to me. His black corset hugged his wide frame and outlined the curve of his back. His sleeves were rolled up and in one of his hands was a cigar.

Now there was no way he followed me all the way here, right? Either way, that was a good catch. He was standing next to a black Jeep. I flipped my hair and made my way there, feeling good that I wore something nice.

Suddenly he straightened and as if sensing someone approaching, he turned to me-

My feet came to a stop. He was looking directly at me. I gulped at the familiar face. Did he follow me all the way here?

He tilted his head and flicked off his cigar, leaning against his car and folding his arms. His eyes were clear, they held no desire nor interest. Has his eyes always been like that? There was no interest even when he stared at me.

There was only curiosity. Would it be strange to ask 'what are we?' despite knowing we had a creditor and debtor relationship?

No one has ever looked at me that way. There was always lust, desire, a hidden agenda. Why was his eyes so clear?

It was getting harder to breathe again. It happened whenever he stared at me that way. My chest was heaving and my hands were clammy from fright. His eyes moved lower and my legs began to hake.

As if he knew my next step before I even made a move. There was something about this man that made me uneasy. I really should stay away, Fuck my greed and eagerness for more! If I walked over there, he would happily take me back.

I had been gone for five days and it didn't seem like that at all to him. But did he track me down to make me pay?

I saw the way he glanced at my feet again and he held my gaze. No way! How did he know I had made a decision? Was he reading me?

Either way, he pushed away from the car door and turned to pull it open. He waited.

I fisted the hem of my hoodie, everything in my head screamed for me to run but my legs moved in his direction anyways.
