The Man in the Room

LISA POV'S

Black bra and matching panties, stiletto heels and a shoulder dropping silver net thigh high dress. I was all set for the night. I stepped out into the bar with the music blasting on high volumes. The stench of alcohol was everywhere but all I could notice were the rich men that gathered in the bar, eyeing the girls like they were a piece of heaven.

I liked my men exactly how I liked my alcohol: rich, easy to reach, quick to empty and quicker to dispose. I scanned the bar for a suitable and worthy prey-

"Seen anyone yet?" Chantel asked as she got to me with two drinks in her hand. She handed one over and I took it. "You've got boredom written all over your face," she noted with a tease in her voice.

I narrowed my eyes at her as I raised my drink to my lips, carefully scanning the crowd, "I don't smell a millionaire. They all look like underlings to the mafia."

"That’s hot!" she grinned.

I wasn't surprised at that. She liked a little touch of danger…maybe more than just a 'little'. Mafia's were her thing and we sure did get a lot of those guys but thankfully, never the boss. I made sure to steer clear from Mafia men. Anything that looked dangerous was way out of my books.

"You want to get tracked down and killed?" I arched my brow. We were already into something that could piss off the average government worker. Even a mama's boy would track us down if he hired a prostitutes and all they ever did was fuck and ask for money like a demanding clingy girlfriend.

But so far. I've only recorded three stalking cases, one attempted assault and a court case that didn't pull through.

Our job was simple: Be all lovey dovey with these men, give them a good time, make sure they keep coming back so they can spend more money on you in the bar, suck them dry and toss them out.

"Cap!" she scoffed and stood by my side. I noticed Madam Alex- our boss- at one corner with a man in a suit. They seemed to be having a good conversation. Anything that pulled him out of his office had to cost a lot of dough.

"See the way he smiles and lights his cigar," Chantel scoffed. "I'm sure it's a big one."

"Has to be," I gave her my drink and prepared to head over there. "I'll be back. Gotta score this one-"

"Little bitch. That's cheating," she growled but smiled after. She had no anger in her eyes nor in her words. Chantel and I were very good friends.

"You still spend all my money anyways so what gives?" I shrugged and she waved me off. I walked towards my boss with an overexaggerated sway of my hips that caught my attention. I glanced at their eyes that ate me up and smirked as I moved towards my boss who now had his eyes on me with a fond smile on his face.

The man in a suit, sized me up and muttered something to Madam Alex.

"I'm here, what do you need?" I asked with an attitude.

"Lisa," Madam Alex smiled. "Well, you asked for my best,"

"Here I am, sugar," I flirted. "What do you need?"

The man in suit looked at Madam Alex with a straight face. He was quite good-looking but still not my type of good looks. There was nothing particularly special about his face.

"She is very sexy," he commented. "Can she handle it?"

"Honey, I can handle anything," I glanced down at his silver wristwatch and confirmed that the man before me was only a bodyguard. "So where is he… or she?"

"What?" he looked at me cluelessly.

"Your boss. I know I'm not here for you and you're not here for me. Is it a suite? I don't go anywhere except that and I'll receive half payment too before leaving."

Madam Alex let out a laugh, "I told you. She's not the queen for nothing. She earned the position fair and square."

The man in suit furrowed his brow for a little while, "she talks too much."

"You know what they say," I defended. "You gotta put some diamonds in it to keep my mouth shut."

Madam Alex seemed to be enjoying himself as he clutched his stomach and laughed. "Oh Lisa, still as funny as ever. Well, I'll leave you two to talk."

"Already settled?" That was fast.

He winked at me, "Trust me. You will want to work ten times harder."

Wow! I knew it. This was a big one.

"Well, you heard the man," I moved closer to the bodyguard. "Fill me in on who I'm meeting tonight."

He looked sceptical but seemed to trust Madam Alex very much because he sighed like he had no choice.

"He's in the private room five," he said and started to lead the way. I followed closely behind. "Do not talk to him, don't stare for too long, don't touch him without his permission-"

"What is this? A guide to kindergarten?" I scoffed. "If he's already waiting in the private room then he's here to be touched." Did I really need to spell it out to him?

"I know that but my boss is a little," he trailed off.

I stopped walking, "Listen, I might strip, dance and even fuck for cash but I have strict rules on the things I won't do." I leaned on my hip and folded my arms. "No crazy people, no mafia's and of course, no anal-"

"He is neither of those things," the man rolled his eyes like I was becoming too much. "Just wait for his signal before you can touch him."

"What's the damn signal?" I was getting pissed. I've never had to deal with this before; rules and whatnot on a human being. And what was up with this guy anyways? Did he hate physical contact that much or he was just a control freak and wanted everything to go his way?

Either way, I was already having a strange feeling about this.

"This is your job, right?" he led me to the pink door and pulled it open like a gentleman. "You'll know."

I stared into the room with dim lighting with a little feeling of dread stirring up. I wondered if this was a job for Chantel instead. It was giving the usual dark vibes that she loved so much.

"Fucking bastard!" I muttered under my breath and stepped in. The door was shut behind me and the loud music died down. There was no music here, there was barely any light. But I could make out a figure on the couch thanks to the led light that ran around the couch.

His demeanour was calm, his legs weren't on the table like so prideful idiots I had come across. He had such a gentle aura going on around him. There were several drinks on the table and his head was thrown back as he emptied a drink and carefully placed the glass on the table.

There was also something in the air. Maybe it was his perfume but it smelled great like warm pancakes on a fine morning.

He straightened in his seat and turned his face to me. I sucked in a breath when our eyes met.

This was the beginning of how we met.
