Chapter 2

"Miss Rain Ashley Esquivel?" A tall girl went out of covered glass office.

I stood up quickly and raised my hand to be discovered. "It's me, ma'am."

"Come with me. Mr. Ledesma is waiting for you."

I obediently followed her. She opened the door, but did not enter. I was about to ask, when she spoke first.

"I wish you luck on your interview with the CEO, Miss Rain." She smiled and even tapped me on my shoulder.

I nodded and spare my question since the answer is too obvious, "Thank you." I smiled back and took a deep breath before stepping in.

"Good Afternoon, Sir." I greeted politely as I managed myself to keep calm and relax to prevent from being so obvious that I'm nervous.

His back is facing my direction, so I can't still visualize how he looks like. But upon basing his physique, he's lean, broady, tall and masculine. He's wearing a navy blue office wear and he seemed to have a new clean hair cut.

I think, this CEO is handsome.

"Good Afternoon. Have a seat." His voice is so manly, and deep. His baritone voice is like a music to my ear, even if he just spoke only a few words.

I sat on the chair in front of his table, and the moment he turned himself to face me...

I knew he would be handsome. Not just handsome, but gorgeously handsome. Even the word itself isn't enough to describe how appealing he is.

I'm in awe. If only I wasn't reminded with the purpose on why I'm here, I might not wake up and stare at him all day.

"You must be wondering why you got the offer of the position of being my secretary?"

He seems strict. I should be presentable and suitable in front of him to save the position for myself. I can't lose this.

"I believe in my own capabilities as a person, and my ability as a worker. I'm here with you now, because I believe I'm more suitable than others who's applying for the position of being your secretary, Sir." I always believe that I stand out in any ways, and I deserved every opportunity given to me.

"You have a good and strong personality. That's great." He commented. I feel delighted.

"Thank you, Sir."

"However, a duties of a secretary isn't as easy as you think. Are you aware of it?"

"Yes, Sir. Since before I applied for the position, I'm well aware of every things that a secretary should do. The secretary must assist the boss, scheduling, documenting, document management, answering phone calls, responding emails..."

"Okay, that's enough." He raised his hand and I stopped from talking immediately.

"One important thing you must know about your job acceptance, it's because you're married." I'm surprised. But why? "I don't want to indulge and be exposed to single women. They are a pain to deal with when they learned to like me. In work, unnecessary things such as flirt, and adoring is strictly prohibited. Congratulations, you may start your job next week."

He stood up and left. He didn't even let me speak. Although, it's much better that way.

Still, I left the company building with a wide smile crept in my lips.

I knew it. Thank you, heavens.

I went to a pastry shop and brought a chocolate cake before going to get my children from their godmother.

"Wow! Chocolate cake!"

"Yummy!"

They giggled as soon as they saw the cake off the box. They are excited as me. I clapped my hands and they held their heads up to listen to me.

I'm lucky to have an obedient kids.

"Today, we are celebrating because mommy got the job!"

"Yeyyy!" They happily clapped their hands and get off their chairs to give me a hug.

"Congratulations, mommy!" They all said in chorus. In response, I embraced them back and kissed their foreheads individually.

"Thank you, babies. Come on, let's eat." We shared the feast I prepared and our dinner was filled with constant happiness because of what we achieved.

In the entire week of no work, I was able to fill the days I wasn't able to be with them. I took them to the nearby park, to the mall and escort them to their school.

How I wished, time couldn't be done so fast. But today, leisures has totally ended and I must face reality.

"Mommy's gonna leave for work after escorting you to school, and your godmother Bea would fetch you later at afternoon, alright?" I have to remind so that they will know who to wait after class.

My kids are smart and obedient. They never cause me headache and everything was efficient and handy for me.

"Okay, mommy."

"We will wait for godmother and will not leave if she didn't come and fetch us."

I pat son's hair, "Take care of your sister. You little men are in charge of looking after her when I'm not around."

"Yes, mommy. Don't worry, we got Amy in control." My prince Duke salute like a soldier.

I chuckled. "Very good. My Amy, be good and listen to your brothers okay?"

"I will, mommy because Amy is a good girl." She giggled and give me a hug before inviting her brothers to go inside their classroom.

I talked to their teacher before leaving it is to ensure the safety of my children and who she can entrust them after class.

When I arrived at the company, Miss Roxy guided me with everything. I will be the one to continue with her work as she is going to retire.

"This will be your station." There's a desk in front of the CEO's office, I supposed that this will be my workplace ever since I lay my eyes here last week. "From now on, you will be attending to the CEO's needs. And that compiled files over here, will be your first job." She took a file whereas covered with clear plastic and handed it to me. "This is the scheduling book. Everything is written here regarding the CEO's agenda for the entire week, each of it must be attended. For the future schedules, you will input everything here."

"I get it, Miss Roxy."

"I'm relieved. I'll be leaving the company at ease. I believed in you, Rain. Please take care of the CEO on my behalf." She will definitely miss her work here, but she has to leave and make up with her family. It is what she said and I think it's a must because of her age. Afterall, she's already sixty.

"I will, Miss Roxy."

When everything has been settled, I was called by the CEO in his office. And I didn't expect him to give time just to welcome me on my first day.

"Today will be your first day, dine with me."

I'm surprised. He's the only boss who did this to me for a welcome. It's too much that it made me feel inspired and motivated.

He's not bad despite being a strict Boss.

"Thank you, Sir. But... You don't have to do this." I said in courtesy, and I didn't mean to provoke him.

"I know. However, I don't adjust to employee's favor and this is only my tradition of welcoming new employees like you." He said and I can't even see any sign of emotion written in his face aside from being serious. "I believed, it's bad to make the food wait." He passed through me and went to the living area where the food is served.

I feel embarrassed.
