I felt bad sending George back home without following him but as I said, I needed time to sort through my thoughts.

That day, when he left, I received a long text message telling me about everything in his life, including his birth parents’ names and their histories which I had no business learning about. According to him, he wanted to be very transparent with me.

His effort was cute.

It had only been a night without him but it wasn’t an easy one. I kept tossing and turning. I’d gotten so used to sleeping with him that sleeping alone was torture. Was this what it meant to depend on someone?

I was able to get through the night though and when morning came, I decided to visit my mother. She and Olivia were the only ones I hadn’t seen after the incident.

When I got to the house, I was welcomed by Olivia who engulfed me in a big long hug as she opened the door for me. I threw my arms over her shoulders and we stayed in that position until my mum came out of her room.
