After our lunch together, Olivia said she had plans with her friends and didn’t go back home with us.

My mom asked me if I had other plans and was happy when I told her I didn’t, even if she tried to make it subtle. She loved spending time with us and as soon as I moved to the dorms for college, she made sure to call me every day.

Over the years, the frequency with which she called me reduced but every time she did, she was always urging me to go home.

She suddenly wanted to bake cookies when we were back home and I had a feeling she had looked up bonding activities for mother and daughter some time ago. Chuckling to myself, I nodded and started helping her with sieving the flour.

As we worked, we discussed a lot of things and laughed about my childhood memories, even the ones including my father and that was when I decided to talk about what we never really talked about, but that was because of the conversation George and I had the previous day
