Strange Man In The Bathroom

“Clara Blair? Are you Clara Blair?” Edward James asked.

“Right. Mr. James, you heard Mrs. Smith mention me, didn’t you?” Clara replied. She was still standing with her back to him. She didn’t know if he was still naked. How could she turn around to talk?

“I have heard. Now, Miss Blair, why did you barge into my bathroom?” Edward asked again. His voice was sarcastic and angry. Sure enough, no one would feel comfortable in his situation right now.

“I... When I came inside, I heard a loud noise coming down from upstairs. I kept asking if anyone was in the house but got no response. I ran to check out the situation and thought there was a thief. Just now, it was because I was so worried that I bothered you. I’m sorry. Mr. James, you believe I did not do this on purpose. I swear, if half of what I just said is a lie, I will be in poverty for the rest of my life and cannot prosper.”

Clara spoke to show Edward her honesty and integrity.

“Swearing? People swear by life and death that’s the limit of the truth.” Edward mocked Clara again.

“Why should I swear on my precious life? I am in this world because of my parents, so my life is only half mine, the other half belongs to my parents. I can say nothing about my life.” Clara said, all the thoughts in her head hiding nothing. After she finished speaking, she felt like she was too frank, so she explained. “I mean, depending on the situation, there are different solutions. Before you speak, see what the situation is like. I swear it’s not because I don’t mean it, I swear by my future, understand...”

“Stop.” Edward interrupted Clara. He showed his impatience and said. “I don’t have time to listen to you babble about your vows. It’s useless to say anything now. You should consider a way to deal with the consequences of your actions.

“I… what should I do?” Referring to the earlier incident, Clara felt shy again, so she felt tense.

 “Come here.”

“Why did you call me over there? Aren’t you... naked right now? First, get something to wrap yourself around. Why did you take off the towel just now? Ah... I mean, I was standing in front of you just now, but why did you take off your towel? No, I mean...”

The more she talked, the more confused Clara felt. She wanted to ask why Edward had told her to approach him and why he was acting so strange just now, but it was not good to ask such sensitive questions about a stranger. She wondered if he thought she was a stupid woman? He was mocking her in his head right now.

“I can’t go. Come get me a bathrobe.” Edward answered after Clara asked a bunch of questions.

“Can’t you go? Do you have a sore leg?” Clara asked to make sure. But when she felt Edward’s silence, she no longer expected his answer. After closing her eyes, she headed straight for the clothes rack. She thought to herself that it’s her fault anyway, it’s also her fault. She kicked the door while people were taking a shower, so now getting him a bathrobe can’t be considered too much.

It was quite difficult for Clara to get her bathrobe while walking with her eyes closed. After taking it, she brought it close to Edward and pushed it into his hand.

“Can you put it on, please?”

Edward said nothing, just accepted the bathrobe from Clara and then put it on. He took off his towel because it was wet. He was going to go get a bathrobe to put on but found that his leg hurt so much that he couldn’t walk, plus more time to talk to Clara, so he’s been naked. This is also reluctant, but Clara understands differently.

“I’m already dressed, open your eyes.” Edward knew Clara had kept her eyes closed until now, so he reminded her.

“Ah... okay,” Clara replied. Her eyes widened to examine the surrounding situation, and when she saw Edward had put on his bathrobe, she opened his eyes.

She realized the bathroom had a lot of things. Around where Edward was standing were scattered bottles of shower gel and shampoo. He looked rather disheveled, with large bruises on his calves and ankles. Clara didn’t want to become a nosy herself, but Edward was her boss, anyway. She felt she should see her boss’s face, so she observed him.

Clara’s first impression of Edward was that he was very tall and handsome. Judging from his appearance, he was only in his thirties, neither too young nor too old, and handsome. His figure was tall and tall, even though he was wearing a large and thick bathrobe. It could not hide his powerful muscles. Clara had never cared about other people’s looks, but when she looked at Edward James, she couldn’t help but admit he was more beautiful than anyone she had ever met. With that look, perhaps when he first met everyone, he thought he had to be a star actor or something to deserve this face. But he’s not an entertainer, he’s much better than them. Although Clara knew nothing about Edward James, she knew he was the owner of this mansion and that was all, nothing more.

Looking at the mess around Edward and the bruises on his leg, Clara guessed he’d just fallen. Perhaps the noise she heard earlier was also from there. It turned out that from the beginning, it was just a disastrous misunderstanding.

“I apologize for what I have done. Maybe it’s time for me to leave this room. I’ll wait for you outside if there’s still a chance to discuss business.” After giving Edward James the bathrobe, Clara went out.

“Wait… wait a minute. Help me get out of here, please.” Edward kept Clara.

“What did you just say?” Clara didn’t understand what he meant, so she asked again.

“My leg is broken, so it must be difficult to walk. Can you help me leave?”
