The attraction Calhoun felt towards the woman was instant, surprising him as he had searched for a woman that would make him feel that way for days. Worst of all, he barely knew her, and he found himself wishing that she was smart as she was beautiful. "I apologize." He said, his voice coming out hoarsely. The lady rubbed her forehead as she stepped back from him. "It's okay." She said, turning to look behind her. Calhoun scrunched his brows, looking behind her to see what she was looking at. There was no one there, so he turned back to look at her, wondering who she was looking for. "Can you please give me a moment of your time? I wish to ask you a question." Calhoun nodded his head, permitting her to ask him whatever she wished. He found that even if she never asked, he would have looked for a way to keep her close to him for much longer. "Do you know anyone who is called Old Porv?" She was looking for the old man? Today had to be his lucky day. Instead
The ride to old Porv's inn wasn't as long as Elena had thought. They had reached a poor section of the town where every corner was filled with shops, and Calhoun took them to the last one at the corner. Although it was late and most people had closed–the inn in that area was very much alive, though– an old man was in the shop, sleeping. He had kicked his head back and had laid his leg across the front table where what looked like dry scrolls had been placed. The man was snoring heavily, and Elena could bet that he was also drooling. He stretched his body out so that the chair he sat on was not standing on four but two of its feet. Elena felt a pang of fear for him. He could easily fall if care wasn't taken. "Old man!" Calhoun's called out from atop his horse, and what Elena predicted came to pass. He jumped up in shock, causing his chair to kick back further and landing him on the ground. Elena winced, hoping that the man didn't retain any injury. She looked towards Calhoun
Morning came faster than expected. Elena sat up from her bed and stretched before finally taking in her surroundings. The old man took her through a small stairway that led to the back of his home, away from where Calhoun was. She couldn't complain, though, because where she was kept was even more beautiful than the house entrance. The garden at the back was much larger and consisted more of vegetables than flowers at the entrance garden. Not that it made it any less beautiful, because the different scents assaulted her senses, even as she slept. The man took them to a small bungalow at the back of the house, and despite how it looked from the outside, it was much larger inside. He told them there were five rooms there, and Elena and her friends could select whichever they liked. Forest was delighted with the suggestion, and being himself, he took the largest of the rooms. Elion had just shaken her head at his antics, though she couldn't hide the indulgent smile she had for
Calhoun's eyes immediately snapped at attention towards Elena once she entered the living room. Seeing her clearly as it was bright in the morning, Calhoun thought her more beautiful than he had expected. Her journey, despite how tiring it was, didn't spoil her beauty, and now that she was well-rested, he felt honored to even look at her. He watched as she made her way to the seat the old man had pointed for her, with her two friends walking behind her and taking in everyone. Calhoun noticed that they were still on edge, but they hid it well. She sat next to the couch just right beside him, and her friends followed suit, sitting next to her on the same couch. She looked around, nervous, as she clearly wasn't used to the attention. And attention they were giving her. Calhoun had never seen hair as white as hers. He wondered who her family was and if they had any ancestors who had some kind of power that caused his descendants to have white hair. Her hair color wasn't somethin
Wazir arrived at the battle scene, the battlefront to be exact. He took in the destruction and the men who caused it. They looked worn for wear, but their determination was so strong that Wazir almost commended them. Almost. As that same determination would be the cause of their downfall. He had taken in the number of casualties for that day, and fortunately, the number was not much, and there was no death. This was all because of help from Darukï and Svetlana. And also the female seer who had appeared to him. He remembered that encounter, not surprised that she had known who he was but more surprised that there was another like him. He had always wondered why he was different from the rest of his family, and at some point, he started to suspect that his father had birthed him out of another relationship, one outside his marriage to his wife. But then, his mother looked at him with love and berated him whenever he was stupid. She had told him on numerous occasions th

The Northern part of the kingdom of Tush. It had been several days since Elena began her training with Old man Porv. After every practice, she noticed herself getting better, and she could only thank the old man, Elion, and Calhoun. The latter appeared in her training almost every day, seeming to derive pleasure from just watching her. Once she was done with her lessons for the day, she always continued practicing. Calhoun stood with her till she ran out of energy. They have gotten to know themselves better since she started practice, making them comfortable with each other. While she was with Calhoun, Forest and his sister caught up with the time they lost apart. She wielded her sword, swinging it left and right strategically just as the old man taught her. "Back straight," Calhoun commanded, and she did so immediately. She continued her practice, her back rigid as she moved her sword, trying to move according to what she had been taught. "Have a blank mind, Ele
