The ride to old Porv's inn wasn't as long as Elena had thought. They had reached a poor section of the town where every corner was filled with shops, and Calhoun took them to the last one at the corner. Morning came faster than expected. Elena sat up from her bed and stretched before finally taking in her surroundings. The old man took her through a small stairway that led to the back of his home, away from where Calhoun was. She couldn't complain, though, because where she was kept was even more beautiful than the house entrance. The garden at the back was much larger and consisted more of vegetables than flowers at the entrance garden. Not that it made it any less beautiful, because the different scents assaulted her senses, even as she slept. Calhoun's eyes immediately snapped at attention towards Elena once she entered the living room. Seeing her clearly as it was bright in the morning, Calhoun thought her more beautiful than he had expected. Her journey, despite how tiring it was, didn't spoil her beauty, and now that she was well-rested, he felt honored to even look at her. He watched as she made her way to the seat the old man had pointed for her, with her two friends walking behind her and taking in everyone. His ministers were all there, studying the brooding strangers whose presence were overpowering. Since they came and stayed in the castle–after hearing that their leader was related to his wife–all the attacks on his kingdom had stopped. After every practice, she noticed herself getting better, and she could only thank the old man, Elion, and Calhoun. The latter appeared in her training almost every day, seeming to derive pleasure from just watching her. Once she was done with her lessons for the day, she always continued practicing. Calhoun stood with her till she ran out of energy. They have gotten to know themselves better since she started practice, making them comfortable with each other. The next day arrived slower than Calhoun would have preferred. He and Elena had agreed to search for a restaurant that day, both of them telling old man Porv about their decision. Not that they needed to, but his Elena was too proper and would act any less. His Elena. He couldn't remember when he started calling her that or how comfortable he had grown with the title. He didn't deny it, though. Elena was his, and he would see that she accepted it. He rolled off his bed and started preparing for the day, heading straight for his bathroom. After taking a bath, he donned a simple attire and took extra care of his appearance, something he had never had any interest in doing. But if he wished to woo Elena, he had to look better than any man she would ever come across, even the ethereal he-would-never-admit beauty Forest, for whom he felt the urge to kill as days went by.
