The kingdom of Neba. The King's Palace... Elena stood at the castle entrance, waving at the king and Svetlana with Wazir next to her. It had taken a lot of promises for the king to let her out of his sight. He wanted her to stay in the castle, but after having lived in one for most of her life, even though it was not enjoyable, she was beginning to enjoy the life of an ordinary citizen. The guard stood up and ran out the same way he came, and after a few minutes, shuffling of feet could be heard at the entrance of the throne room, and men, about twelve of them, filed inside. They walked majestically and proudly toward their king, but something was off amongst them, and the king noticed it immediately. More days passed as Calhoun, and his crew trod across the dark forest. They were already losing hope of ever finding their way out when they were blessed with the sight of sunlight at a far-off distance. Immediately they started galloping to the light, happy that finally, after a long time, they would be able to come out of the dark forest. They have never missed the sun as much as they did during that period. It didn't take much time before they reached the end of the forest, finding themselves in a somewhat deserted village. There were run-down houses, and the roads were dirty, though not enough that showed there was no civilization. There wasn't a soul in sight, though. Good day readers! I want to thank you so much for being with me throughout the beginning of this my writing journey. As this is my first time writing in this platform, it has been so much fun writing this story for your entertainment. I still make mistakes in some areas, but I try my best to improve on them. One of those areas is in the area of late updates, which I want to clarify. Some of you have complained about the late updates, and some have asked about my updating schedule. I want to talk about that here. So I update three times in a week, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Central European Time. I update between the hours 15:00 and 16:00, which is usually in the evening. I upload a chapter each on these days, and each chapter is an average of two thousand words. So in three days, I update six thousand words; the equivalent of the average number of words most authors on this site update in a week. I carry out my updates like this to avoid unduly stretchin

The old man led Calhoun to the back of his stall, where an empty alleyway stood. It looked like it hadn't been used for years; the walls were moldy, and the air stank of rot. He wondered what poor rodent had died there. The road was narrow and rough, barely enough for him and his horse. They walked deeper into the alleyway, and Calhoun noticed that the path was between two walls. One was just a regular wall used as a means of demarcation, while the other was a huge, tall wall that he immediately assumed encased an expensive building inside. Whoever owned it was probably a warm-hearted person as he allowed people to be selling goods by his wall. The men proudly walked into the palace hall, and the king counted five of them. An outstanding one stood in the middle, and his uniqueness could be seen in the way he carried himself, as the other four only walked behind him, moving only when he moved. They paused in the middle of the hall, not making a sound. As if coming to their senses, the king's guards ran towards the men with their swords drawn.
