Elena: *feeling chirpy.* Hello Everyone! As you all know, my name is Elena. I am the first and legitimate daughter of the king of Pres, but my father didn't treat me and my mother r
Elena stood by the kingdom gates, waving goodbye to those who had come out to see her. Her grandparents were still in the castle, as it was inconvenient for them to see her out. Her grandmother had cried and hugged her tightly when she was leaving, and she promised her grandmother that she would be back. She also made her grandmother promise to be strong for her and her grandfather. She wanted to come back to a lively castle. Her grandmother had nodded her head, adhering to her wish. Mac and Wazir had followed her and Forest to the kingdom's gates. Forest was adamant about not leaving her alone, and Elena surmised that he was still in trauma from her kidnap incident. Mac was trying so hard to hide his tears, and so Elena promised him to try and create a branch of the Red Queen's restaurant in the kingdom of Tush, making his dreams come to life. Mac immediately brightened and stopped his tearing, enveloping her in a big hug. Wazir also hugged her tightly, which she returned,
Queen Navina's brother walked around the room, hands folded tightly across his chest. He was pacing about, taking in the information that his sister had just told him. "You know that this is a big problem." He started. "If the elders find out about this, things are going to head south." The room fell into another deep silence, the severity of the information clouding what would have been a joyful meet. "You know," the queen said slowly. "Now that I think of it, I do believe that the leaders knew of my incident." Her brother turned to face her. "What makes you say that?" "Think about it. They were the ones who trained the chosen and taught her how to control her powers. Wouldn't they also know how to tell when a person is being controlled by her? After being with her for such a long time, I doubt they wouldn't recognize the signs." Her brother nodded his head, placing his fingers on his chin as he thought deeply. "What you are saying does make sense." He r
The next day came earlier than ought. Barely able to sleep due to how dry the weather had been the previous night, Elena woke up somewhat disgruntled. She stretched herself before rising from the bed, stretching again as her hands lifted, wiping any remaining trace of sleep. She walked to the bathroom in her room adjacent to her bed and freshened up. She looked hale when she stepped out, though traces of tiredness could still be seen on her face. She walked back to her bed and picked up her belongings, then made her way out of the room. Once she made her way to the passage, she was greeted by the scent of a delicious meal. Swallowing her immediate hunger, she made her way to Forest's room, knocking on his door before silently opening it. Forest's bed was empty when she entered, and thinking that he must have made his way downstairs, she started to back out of the room when Forest immediately came out of his bathroom. He was dressed and looked like he had a good night
Elena immediately packed her things and ran downstairs to the serving area of the inn. She paused and turned back, looking at the bartender that had come for her. "Where was he kidnapped?" She asked, her voice sharper than usual. "He went out early this morning to feed your horse, and suddenly he was attacked by some men and thrown over into their carriage." "Can you describe these men for me?" "They wore black masks, and their faces were shielded by a black hood. Every other attire they wore was black." Elena paced, trying to draw up a plan. Firstly, she had never been to this place before, so she didn't know anyone who would want to attack her and Forest. Even if she did, she doubted she would be able to attack them by herself. She ran out of the inn, and the bartender called for her. "Where are you going?" She didn't reply. She didn't know how she would do it, but she would find Forest, even if it meant risking her life. She walked over to where th
Elena stood there speechless, not knowing how to approach the situation. Of all the things going on in her head about what would happen to Forest, the one of him being treated like a king wasn't what she thought would happen. She slowly lowered her sword and called out unsurely. "Forest?" Immediately, all eyes in the room turned to where she stood. While Forest's eyes widened when he saw her, the women who surrounded him stood up immediately and drew out their swords. "How did you enter here?" One of them shouted. It turned out that her guess was correct. The kidnappers were women. She looked at all the women facing her like she was some intruder. They had not expected someone to enter in and rob them though they left their doors wide open. Hell, they had even been in the storage room where they kept their stolen riches. Elena also found it funny how they all stood at attention, with their swords drawn to attack while wearing heavy dresses. If they were members o
The attraction Calhoun felt towards the woman was instant, surprising him as he had searched for a woman that would make him feel that way for days. Worst of all, he barely knew her, and he found himself wishing that she was smart as she was beautiful. "I apologize." He said, his voice coming out hoarsely. The lady rubbed her forehead as she stepped back from him. "It's okay." She said, turning to look behind her. Calhoun scrunched his brows, looking behind her to see what she was looking at. There was no one there, so he turned back to look at her, wondering who she was looking for. "Can you please give me a moment of your time? I wish to ask you a question." Calhoun nodded his head, permitting her to ask him whatever she wished. He found that even if she never asked, he would have looked for a way to keep her close to him for much longer. "Do you know anyone who is called Old Porv?" She was looking for the old man? Today had to be his lucky day. Instead
The ride to old Porv's inn wasn't as long as Elena had thought. They had reached a poor section of the town where every corner was filled with shops, and Calhoun took them to the last one at the corner. Although it was late and most people had closed–the inn in that area was very much alive, though– an old man was in the shop, sleeping. He had kicked his head back and had laid his leg across the front table where what looked like dry scrolls had been placed. The man was snoring heavily, and Elena could bet that he was also drooling. He stretched his body out so that the chair he sat on was not standing on four but two of its feet. Elena felt a pang of fear for him. He could easily fall if care wasn't taken. "Old man!" Calhoun's called out from atop his horse, and what Elena predicted came to pass. He jumped up in shock, causing his chair to kick back further and landing him on the ground. Elena winced, hoping that the man didn't retain any injury. She looked towards Calhoun
