Lucian left the office looking complacent.

"Mr. Ferrel." Violet approached enthusiastically, saying, "Let me escort you out."

Lucian shook his head and pointed to a corner. "Let her escort me."

Avery was taken aback as she was suddenly singled out, feeling the intense gazes from everyone. Under Violet's murderous glare, Avery pressed the elevator button and went down with Lucian.

As the elevator doors closed, Lucian asked, "What's your name?"

"Avery Llyod."

"Like the classic beauty?"

"Mr. Ferrel, you have a way with words."

Lucian laughed. "Is that a forced compliment?"

Avery remained silent, her eyes fixed on the numbers changing in the elevator.

"Hey, let me ask you something." Lucian continued, "Do you know who slept with your boss?"
