Chapter 99

Avery was making her bed when she heard Eason ask, "Do you have a cup?"

She turned around and saw him standing at the bathroom door. He had asked with an earnest expression as he held his toothbrush.

She got up, walked over to him, and grabbed her own cup off the shelf. Rinsing it a few times under the tap, she told him, "You can use mine if you don't mind."

"Thanks." Eason took it and filled it with water. He then started brushing his teeth. It was as if it was just another day for him.

Avery stood at the door. When she saw his mouth touch her cup, her heart skipped a beat.

It suddenly occurred to her that he didn't have a towel, so she pointed at a pink towel hanging nearby. "That's my face towel."

"Okay." Eason nodded and looked at her through the mirror, a happy smile tugging at his lips.

Avery quickly looked away and went back to making her bed. But for some reason, her heart was pounding like crazy.
