Maia
I snuggled closer to the warm pillow. This is probably the warmest pillow that I’ve hugged. However, it was a little bit hard, so I tapped it gently to fluff it up. The ‘pillow’ didn’t fluff up at all, and it became even harder. Confused, I wandered my hands around and felt the pillow move beneath me.
I finally opened my eyes and saw two big mountains beneath my face. I looked up to see Clyden’s smirking face as I held onto his abdomen.“Enjoying yourself?”
I broke away and moved to the farthest corner of the bed. I looked around the room and felt relieved when I saw that it was my room. But, what is Clyden doing here? Wait… How did I even get here? And why is he naked? I panicked and peeked through the covers to see if I was also not wearing anything.
Clyden chuckled. “Relax. We didn’t do anything. I wouldn’t do that without your formal consent.”
I nodded my
JasmineI woke up in a bad mood since that bitch Maia was getting on my nerves. Not only did she enter later than me, but she even dressed up in a nicer gown during last night’s party. I even ruined her black dress so that she’d be embarrassed in front of the media and the other guests, but that bitch always has something up her sleeves. She’s really so sly.You might all be wondering why I hate her so much, and I’m going to tell you all the reasons why.Growing up, my mother really never paid that much attention to me. She always took Clyden’s side and opposed my requests. I knew that we weren’t well-off in the financial department, but is it too much to ask for some luxury items as a teen? Is it so bad that I also wanted to party and stay out? While all my other friends had the privilege to get into yachts, VIP clubs, and the like, I couldn't afford any of those since my family was too stingy to give me the money for it. She
Maia1 month laterAfter the news of Clyden’s and I’s marriage broke out, we were the talk of the town for quite some time, but like every other news out there, it also died down as time passed by and as other interesting events also came about. At first, there were some media outlets that came to our house every day to get a second statement from Clyden, but after a while, they also gave up when he did not heed their requests. And although the Ledgers were a little bit offended by the news, they did not give up as Clyden’s company’s major shareholder because his company is doing so well. Backing out from it would just be a loss for them. Now that Clyden is all better and his injuries have all healed up, he’s working little by li
ClydenI’m currently sitting inside my car, waiting for Karl to come and fetch me. Since it’s been about two months since my accident and I don’t have any external injuries anymore, I decided to visit the company to familiarize myself with the environment and to get some updates about its signs of progress.I saw Karl coming down the stairs of the parking lot, so I opened the door, got out of the car, and locked it.“Good morning, sir,” he bowed.“Don’t bow at me anymore. It feels like I’m a crown prince or something.”He simply nodded his head and pointed towards the entrance. We climbed up the stairs, and I took a deep breath before the main entrance of the building. It was about 10:00 in the morning, so I’m guessing that the employees were already here. Once I entered the building, almost everyone turned to me. Some even whispered to each other, but I didn’t pay them any at
Maia Clyden and I were currently inside his car, driving towards the charity event. Grandma Edith and Jasmine went to the venue before us because Jasmine had to get ready for her performance. I squeezed my hands in anxiety and let out a deep breath. Clyden noticed this and hovered his hand over mine. His single hand was able to cover both of my hands. “Why are you nervous?” He asked. I felt comforted by the warmth of his hand. “I—I’m just feeling nervous now that I'm meeting new people. What if they hate me? Oh god, what if the media roasts my looks?” Clyden chuckled and held my hands tighter. “What are you talking about? The last thing that people could roast about you is your looks. I mean, look at you!” I glanced down at my white body con dress and leaned on the car seat. “I don’t see anything special.” “Hey, don’t say that. You’ll be the most beautiful woman in that event,” he said. I looked at him incredulously and
Third Person’s POVThe once passive audience suddenly became more awake as they looked at the beautiful figure on the stage. Most of them were looking at her in curiosity, while some in maliciousness. Jasmine, Edith, and Addison, in particular, were delighted to see Maia becoming flustered on the stage. When she tested the violin, and it made an unpleasant sound, their hearts almost burst out in joy.“Let’s see how brave she is now,” Edith whispered to the young women, then they giggled to themselves.Jasmine looked around and saw the people’s anticipating faces. She couldn’t wait until Maia made a fool out of herself. As far as she knows, Maia is not interested in classical music and does not have any talents in this field. She tapped her thighs in excitement. ‘I can’t wait until she embarrasses herself,’ she thought in her head.Maia finally finished tuning the violin, so she closed her eyes a
MaiaThe three of us got in the car, and the moment we entered, I said, “You don’t have to keep acting nice. Clyden’s gone now.”Edith and Jasmine’s smiles fell as they both glared at me. “Ugh, thank god. It felt demoralizing smiling at you for an entire hour,” Jasmine said.I looked down on my lap and silently sighed. I just wanted to go home and hide in my room as soon as possible.“Did you just sigh?” Edith asked. “Such a disrespectful young woman. I really don’t know why Clyden even married you.”Jasmine gently tapped her grandma’s thigh. “Have you forgotten, grandma? Her family only forced Clyden to marry her. Oh! Oops… I’m guessing I’m not supposed to say that,” she said while covering her mouth.I took a deep breath. I looked at the navigation map on the car’s screen and saw that we were only a minute away from the house.
MaiaA lot has happened today— the charity concert, Jasmine and Edith’s attempted assault, and now, Clyden and I are driving towards a hotel. My eyes started to droop as I let out a yawn. Clyden placed one of his hands on my thigh and caressed it gently as he kept his other hand on the steering wheel.“Are you tired? I’m sorry. We’ll be there soon,” he said gently.I shook my head to get rid of my tiredness. Clyden’s probably just as tired as me, so I should stay awake with him for this car ride. “No, I’m okay. How about you? Aren’t you tired?”He smiled while looking at the road. “How could you be so concerned about me after all that had happened? I’m fine. You should look after yourself more.”We finally arrived at the hotel, and Clyden booked the suite on the highest floor. The moment we arrived at the room, I plopped down on the bed and hugged a pillow. Clyden c
MaiaI opened the balcony door and went out to savor the view from our hotel. I heard soft footsteps from behind me then felt Clyden’s arms snake around my waist. I held onto his arms as he held me, and we both looked at the wonderful scenery of Greece. It was our second day here, and all we did during our first day was rest and sleep on the bed.He kissed my head as I felt the warm breeze on my skin. “Do you like it here?” He asked.I nodded my head. “Very much. I wish I could live here forever.”He chuckled. “Me too. But, I really don’t know whether I love the place or the person I’m with more.”I turned around and gazed deeply into his sincere eyes. I stood up on my tippy toes to give him a peck on the cheek, then rested my head on his shoulder. “You’re becoming cheekier each day,” I said while pinching his pecs.“What do you mean by cheeky? I’m just
