I bit my nails in anxiety and walked back and forth in the waiting room. Jasmine was with me in the room, but I ignored her heated glares and just thought about Clyden’s well-being. After what felt like forever, the doctor finally went out of the room and gave us a bitter smile.
“Good day, Mrs. Gonzalo and Jasmine.”
We both stood up and stood in front of the doctor. I placed my hands together and fiddled with my fingers.
“What—What happened, doctor? Is he okay now?” I asked nervously.
The doctor sighed and looked at the ground. My heart stopped as all the worst-case scenarios ran through my mind.
“Do you want to hear the good news first or the bad news?”
“Bad news,” I said.
“Good news,” Jasmine said at the same time as me.
