Gemma
Throughout the night the wolf would repeatedly attempt to get through the door. Gemma had resorted to lying on the couch pushed against the door so she would wake instantly if the wolf tried to get in.
Once again she felt the door shudder as the wolf threw herself against the door. “You should stop; you’re only going to hurt yourself.” She called out, despite asking herself why she thought this wolf would even understand her.
“You need to let me in!” A female voice called out from outside.
The voice made her leap towards the window and look outside. Surely, there wasn’t a woman outside when the wolf was here. But no, all she saw was the wolf pacing back and forth in front of the door.
The wolf noticed her at the window and stopped to stare at her. Gemma was surprised to notice the wolf’s eyes had changed from the amber it had been before to traces of red melti
DaleThe next day they tried to help his confused mate to find some kind of middle ground with her wolf. It was difficult and he was livid when he realized that the Elders had not prepared her for any of it. It was the Elders’ job to assist a new wolf with everything they would need to know to make the transition as smooth as possible. He ensured to add that to his ever growing complaints against the three Elders that had caused all this. He was sure that the Supernatural council were currently inundated with complaints, since word had gone out about them removing the three Elders from their midst and lodging complaints against them.He was sure that those three had spent years pushing their own agenda and had hoped to do the same with Gemma, but she was not such an easy target. She was too strong and had no background of submitting to the Elders above all. He was very proud of her and he pitied her for the battle she wa
GemmaShe lay in her bed, staring at the ceiling. It was late and she still couldn’t sleep; she’d agreed to Daisy’s repeated insistence the previous night to slip into Dale’s bed to get some sleep. She couldn’t think of him in the formal sense of ‘the commander’ now that she’s snuck into his bed like a scared toddler after a nightmare. But she also couldn’t do it every night. It felt like she was pushing limits and boundaries and she wasn’t sure it was fair to him, despite him pulling her close in his sleep. But again, she couldn’t sleep. She’d rolled around, got herself tangled up in the covers and Daisy was whining in her head to go to Dale. Finally, with a sigh, she sat up. “This is the last time I’m sneaking into his room. We can’t keep doing this, Daisy.”“He would love us going to bed with him&h
DaleShe woke before sunrise again and attempted to sneak out of his hold once more, thinking he didn’t wake at the slightest movement or sound. “Where are you going, Darling?” He growled in a sleepy voice, causing her to squeak with fright. He had started to enjoy those little squeaks she made whenever she was startled. If he’d been a more playful person, he might have strived to startle her more in a bid to hear it and then see the slight flush to her cheeks in her embarrassment.“I…uh…I…” She was adorably flustered and he fought the urge to kiss her. He knew one thing and that was that he was not ready to let her go, so he needed to say something if he wanted to hold her a little longer. He raised his head from the crook of her neck and looked at her with his sleepy gaze. “You could just get into bed with me every night instead of trying to sneak in later
GemmaDaisy had been super excited all day, causing her to be tired from the sheer will of keeping her contained. Elder Gordon had showed up not long after Emily had the previous day and Wade had shown Emily around. He was so gentle with her it was adorable to see. She’d also noticed that Emily’s scent had changed to something similar to Wade’s. Even Dale had mentioned her change in scent with a frown of confusion, personally she thought it was because she was using her toiletries to shower and wash her hair. But Elder Gordon was very focused on his classes today, Charlie sitting in on her classes while he read, occasionally adding some information to what Elder Gordon told her, if he thought she needed to know. It was much more informative and much less grooming to be a Stepford; something she was beyond grateful for.Elder Gordon seemed like he was enjoying his time with her, telling her that the best Luna
Wade He was so proud of his alpha for everything she’d faced without hesitation; she was an amazing leader. He had made the right decision to swear his fealty to her. He was sure that she would make a world of difference to all their lives; she already had to his. He just couldn’t understand the odd sense he had about the new girl she had saved. He felt protective of her too, only slightly less than he was of Gemma. It couldn’t be that she might be his mate, since his mate had already died. His mate’s death was the reason he was halfway to insanity. In fact, he was sure if it hadn’t been for Gemma he would have gone completely insane by now. It was as if she had pulled him back from the edge and kept him from going completely feral. He knew Wilken was still lingering on the edge of feral; there was no real way of knowing if a wolf could be brought back from the edge. Most that showed any sign of going feral were put down without question since they became a threat to anyone
Gemma She was ashamed to admit that she found herself sleeping in Dale’s bed again. It was like her first shift had strengthened Daisy, or emboldened her, she wasn’t sure which. But she closed her eyes to rest them in the middle of the night and when she opened them again, she was well rested and lying in Dale’s bed. He seemed amused at her confusion, followed closely by her huff of annoyance when she realized what had happened. “You two are going to have to find some common ground, Darling.” He said gently, though his tone was earnest. She knew that, but Daisy seemed to think it wasn’t necessary. “Tell her that; I don’t even remember how I got here. It’s like she’s trying to take over everything.” She retorted with annoyance. “She needs to know you two are partners; the harder you fight her, the harder she will fight.” “I don’t like losing control.” She confessed in a small voice. “It’s not losing control, Darling. Daisy will never do anything to harm you because she is
Gemma After breakfast, Charlie showed Alpha Gregory and Alpha Winston into the parlor. They had agreed to draw in the neighboring packs to assist with housing, since the tournament had invitations had blown up and they didn’t have enough space to house all the visitors. She chose the parlor, since she didn’t like the formality of the alpha’s office, which didn’t feel comfortable to her at all. Even with the change in prizes that ranged from small gifts from the new pack members’ businesses to her assistance with business and finance along with Charlie’s sponsored financial prizes and Tamara’s rare potions, wolves were lining up to attend the tournament. Tamara had mentioned that they might do this tournament annually if this year was a success. Gemma was still on the fence with this, but with everyone insisting she was the change they needed, she felt guilty with not at least trying to help the wolves survive. Gemma was dressed in one of her new smart business dresses with a bla
Dale He was so proud of his mate for the way she handled the meeting. She was really shining in her ability to do business with the cranky old alphas who had seemed to underestimate her from the start. Of course he hadn’t missed their complete surprise when he’d stood to serve them instead of his mate. It was time the old dogs learned some new tricks. And that was to accept his mate for her business and logistical talents. He had completely underestimated her in the beginning, but he would do his utmost to make up for that. Of course, Duke has been demanding that he mark their mate, but they had to show patience, since she had not been prepared at all. He would continue with his plan to date his mate, like he had discussed with Elder Stuart. She deserved to be treated like a queen for everything she had faced and was rising above, but it was difficult to find a time to date her with everything happening. He had been p
