Chapter 28

Tom's POV

I was seated in the conference room listening to an employee pitch his presentation about improving our sales when my phone buzzed with a notification.

Curious, I unlocked my phone to see who had sent me a message, and surprisingly, it was a message from my receptionist.

'Good day, Sir. Your fiancee is here, and she wants to see you.' The message read.

Suddenly, the chilly room became hot, "Why was Ava here? What does she want?" These questions flooded my mind as I shifted uncomfortably in my seat.

We hadn't talked since the incident yesterday, and it was all thanks to me; I didn't want to talk to her.

I was going to call her back after I missed her calls, but …well, I don't know why I didn't.

When she had mentioned my family yesterday, I was reminded that I had none, and it hurt me so much.

"What do you think, Sir?" Mr. Bart asked, jolting me out of my thoughts.

"What?" I had no idea what he was asking me about.

"The presentation. What do you think?" He asked again.
