Ava's POV

We both stood there frozen, our faces flushed with embarrassment, and the silence between us felt very uncomfortable.

Tom cleared his throat nervously, which helped to relieve the tension a bit.

"Uh, sorry…about that," he mumbled, his voice barely audible, "I didn't mean to... you know."

I felt my cheeks getting really hot, like they were on fire, "No, it's… it's ummm…okay, I guess," I stammered, trying to find the right words, "I was just surprised by what happened."

Tom shifted uncomfortably, his eyes darting around the room, "Yeah, that was definitely unexpected. So, uh, I think I should probably go. Give you some time alone."

I was still too overwhelmed to say anything, so I just nodded and watched him leave.

I found my way to an empty seat, still in a daze, as soon as Tom walked out of the room.

Goodness gracious! My cheeks were burning with embarrassment.
