Chapter 32 - One call away

His mouth looked like a chimney from which smoke was being pushed out unwillingly, resembling a fireplace during a downpour.

Stacy was left behind the pack and didn’t participate in the rescue mission. He became a passive observant, deprived of any influence on the course of events. At least, that is what Dervel thought. But in reality, he had already done his part and waited for Jenn’s move.

Jenn in turn, held in her palm Michael’s number but couldn’t push herself to make a call. Was the dwarf right and Dervel did not intend to kill Bianca at all? Hundreds of doubts flooded her head and she couldn’t decide what side to choose. It was clear to her that Michael also didn’t want Bianca dead.

Will I be able to outsmart Dervel, Michael and Samuel at the same time? That thought held her back from dialling the number, but if the dwarf was right, Stacy was the only person she could rely on. No one else wanted Bianca dead.

She missed Samuel’s touch and yearned for his closeness. Jenn
