AURORA

There was no way I was getting up from this bed if it meant I could miss another lesson from Lizra. She didn’t know that I was better and it was BETTER it remained that way. I wouldn’t be able to stand her lectures… just not today.

She opened the curtains and I growled at her when the sun rays hit my face. “Rise and shine, Aurora.”

“That’s so cliché,” I told her as she chuckled softly.

“We have much to catch up on today and we’ll be talking about a very interesting topic that interests me. If you do well on this one, we’ll proceed to practice and if not, we’ll go on some more drilling till you get it right. Now I…”

If only I was listening.

I coughed as loud and sickly as I could but she didn’t hear because she kept on bickering about how this was her favorite and how much I would ‘enjoy’ it. I coughed again, so hard this time that my chest felt like claws had scraped it.

Then she turned to me, her eyes widened as she walked over. “That doesn’t sound right. Are you fine, Aurora?
