54. Kick Against

As soon as Amy and I left the palace floor, we arrived at a dark, long passageway. It led to a far-fetched corner and we didn't know where to head from here.

“My lady, should I go back to the palace floor and ask for directions?” Amy inquired and just as I nodded in approval for her to do so, a tall heavily built guard joined us.

“Greetings my lady.....I was asked to show you to your dorm.” He declared and I felt the tightening in my stomach eased.

“Yes, please do so," I responded and the guard led the way, so Amy and I followed right behind him.

After rounding up a few corners in minutes, the guard finally stopped at a brown door. I saw my name inscribed on it amongst others.

Instantly, I knew that was my room.

“My lady.... ” the guard opened the door and motioned for us to go in. Then he left.

Amy closed the door shut right after he walked away. Afterward, she turned to me. “What do you think of your room, my lady? Is it comfortable enough?"
