Chapter 26- Evelyn
I opened my mouth to ask about what he said but Adrian beat me to it.
“We are leaving the pack tonight. We were waiting for the doctor to give us the green flag. We are going to Lizzy’s mate Liam’s pack. You will be safe there. Everything is already set. We will be just fine.” He told me.
I just stared at him blankly. What good is that going to make? I have lost my will to fight. I feel empty and lost at this point. I mean I am dead to the world, no qualification to start my career at any point, physically I am a wreck and emotionally… destroyed.
I don’t think I am ever going to be back to normal again.
Even if I escape from that monster, what am I going to do with myself? I don’t want to be a burden and I know I am going to an extra baggage. I don’t know what to do anymore. I haven’t felt so hopeless in my entire life. Adrian’s voice brought me out of the reverie.

What if I am pregnant? I know I won’t abort or give up the kid. But I am broke. How the hell will I take care of the kid when I can’t even take care of myself? I felt dizzy from all the thinking. A table was placed there with a person sitting in one of those big office chair. The back of the chair was facing us. I was so engrossed in my work that I was startled when my phone went off. Who calls this late in the night? I checked the caller id to find none other than my second in command Liam. What is this loud beeping in my ears?Who the hell set the alarm?Please someone just shut that damn thing down. It’s been a month since Evelyn, Lizzy and Adrian came to the Night Walker pack. They were introduced to the pack at the end of the first week there.As the pack didn’t have the Luna, Lizzy had to fulfill the part of the beta female as well as Luna. That kept her busy all day long. Adrian joined the warrior training and has been training pretty hard to fit the brief.Evelyn on the other hand helps in the chores of the house, from cooking to cleaning. Anything she can help with.The doctor had advised her to rest but she didn’t want to free load, so she does whatever work she can. She still gets nightmares frequently but has learned to cope with them a little. The only problem being that she can’t fall back asleep after she has a nightmare.She didn’t tell Adrian or Lizzy about it though, thinking they already have enough going on with their lives.On the other hand the Alpha still gives Eve the cold shoulder.Dan
