“What do you think of all this, Bedelia? I don’t know what to think.” I ask her and she ruffles her feathers. I know she is anxious and pissed, just like I am. This is going to be war. A war with the fae. It is impossible. We are all going to die.

“Don’t think like that. We will not die and neither will our realm. I am becoming stronger, Serana. A phoenix always becomes stronger for their hatchlings. He can try to get to it, but I will pluck his eyes from his head before removing his head from his body.” She hisses with malice.

“Ok, remind me to never piss you off.” I say as I lay looking at the ceiling in the presidential suite. “Do you think Xerxes killed his father?” I ask as I think of everything Lara said.

“Yes, I do. Maybe that is why the throne is corrupting him, because he isn’t pure of heart, like Lara said.” The throne belongs to Lara. Not Xerxes. That much is true. She is a light fae. Her power is pure, not tainted.
