Given that this is an absolutely vital and critical day for both the Lombardi and Hendrix clans, everyone else was bustling on the Lombardi estate. It is not just about the function that is about to happen that they are focusing on, but much more on the security issues. Certainly, those present here today are individuals with high stakes in the gangster life in and out of Italy, and security should be tightened at all costs. Everyone was on their toes as they will now wrap up the preparatory work that took up their time over the past few days. And after this, a bigger event will take place in the very near future. It's a signing of a marriage contract that will happen right now, but it's going to soon become a signing of a business partnership. And Luca Hendrix and Giovanni Lombardi equally cannot wait for these agreements, both the marriage and the business partnership, to happen.

Calix has by now made up his mind, even though his conversation with Kaira has been futile. His father's dismissive comments won't keep him in constant fear, and he will not allow his threats to overcome his plans. He is willing to go to any length to prevent the Lombardis' collaboration. He can see it in Kaira's eyes that, just like him, this is not what she wants, and behind that hard facade that she is trying to show him, Calix knows that she, like him, is desperately trying to find a way out of this. With a huff in his breath, Calix can only now admit to himself that yes, he does care for her. And as much as James is right that he can protect her more if they get married, he simply cannot allow Kaira Lombardi to play an active role in the lifestyle he happens to find repulsive. She has a bright future awaiting her outside of this life that they are forced to live.

Calix's silence was disturbed when James tried to say, "This is pretty clearly fucked up, isn't it?"
