22. Failing to get it right

"That's enough, Alice. You've made your point and she's understood. Make sure you confirm the numbers before making any presentation before the board, Emily," I said and rounded off the meeting.

Emily bowed and stepped out in anger. She headed for her office but a few executives stopped to talk to her.

"You don't have to be discouraged. You did great there," one of the directors said.

"We look forward to your next presentations," another said and smiled.

They shook hands with her and left while one of the directors, who was a young man, waited behind. I stood at the hallway as if speaking to Jude while I listened in on their conversation.

"Great job, Emily. I loved your presentation and I'm impressed you got all that done in a few days. The hardest part was the market and client research which you've done successfully," Mr. Jeff said.

"Thank you so much, Jeff. I appreciate your help in getting those materials together," Emily replied and wore a bright smile.
