CHAPTER 49: HOME IS WHERE ONE STARTS FROM

Ella had known that she would not live with Victoria forever, but she was not ready to live alone yet. The discussion with Victoria struck great fear in her and she packed her things with mounting anxiety. Once she was done she sat on the bed and looked around while trying to imagine what kind of neighbourhood she should move to. This was when Lola came to bring her some food.

“Thank you for dinner,” Ella said and she took the tray of food.

“You are welcome. I will really miss you Ella,” Lola said.

“I’ll miss you too. I know I messed up today and I feel really bad that I disappointed Madam Victoria,” Ella said. “I guess that’s why she doesn’t want me eating at the same table with her.”

“It’s not that. She is under a lot of pressure and some of her superiors are in a meeting with her right now.”

“So I put my only ally in trouble? I feel ten times worse now.”

“But what really happened? You left without telling me and you left your phone here. Then the security guard was conveniently a
