Chapter 35: Digging Deep

ARIA'S POV:

At the breakfast table, I sat with Uncle Jeremiah, thinking of the possible most unsuspicious way to bring up the topic of the secret war to him.

I couldn't possibly bring this up now at the breakfast table. He looked so tired from all the work he had been up to for the past few days. But I still needed to find out more about this curse so as to know what the next step I was supposed to take would be.

Should I bring it up during lunch? Or dinner? I just didn't know when it would be the right time to bring up such a sensitive issue.

"Seeing you are not eating," uncle Jeremiah said, calling my spirit back to the room, "means something seems to be bothering you."

"Nothing much, uncle." I responded, resuming my eating. "Just a little something I can handle."

"Okay. If you say so."

And boom! I had just lost the opportunity to say what was on my mind. I could have just told him what I had in mind when he asked.
