Chapter 17: The library

My eyes flutter open, a moment of peace before the immense pain of the freezing cold whiteness consumes my body. I close my eyes and clench my teeth, taking a moment to get used to it. Calming down a bit once the pain subsides.

With the sound of a knock at the door, I sigh out at the pain in my arm, why me, why is this happening, I need to find the source. Throwing my legs over my bed, I make my way over to the door and open it.

"Good morning deary, are you feeling any better?" Matilda asks the morning light glowing on her brown skin. I nod, "Yes, your soup did help quite a bit." I say with a gentle smile, she seems to light up a bit. "That's lovely to hear, I have a letter for you." She says handing me said letter.

"Well thank you." I smile at her, she nods, "Alright then, breakfast is almost and then after the other schools arrive for the festival. Do you feel well enough to go help them to their rooms?" She asks kindly with slight worry.
