Chapter 20: Breathing

The air is thick with tension. No words are spoken and the inside of my check is chewed to shreds. My eyes glued to the floor as the silence rings in my ears. So loud, so so loud, overbearingly loud. Forcing my thoughts to scream like sirens in my head.

The thoughts I've been running from, hiding from. They face me down and now that I have no choice to listen...They're silent. As silent as the sea, loud waves crashing against large rocks of enormous sizes.

I've only been to the beach once, for a school trip. The sea loomed over us when stood there in awe. I'd only heard stories before, but no words could describe it. The silence, not a single passing stranger. The village roads were always so busy and the castle walls were no different.

There on the beach, it was quiet of people but load by nature. Ocean waves fracturing against the salty earth. The seagulls crooning their unpleasant songs. The splashing of fish and crabs clacking the pinchers. Almost beautiful
