I was happy Monday came around. It was the day the twins were supposed to arrive. I had Ciara's class at eleven in the morning and someone had to stay with Alex. He was still in the room. He didn't allow the mermaid or Shelly to visit him. I was the only one who he let in the room. He kept silent most of the time. At other times, he would tell me about this mermaid he was obsessing over.

The silence didn't bother me, anyway. I noticed that the scales were kept at bay when he was in the cold. His showers had to be in ice-cold water. The room had to be chilled for him to remain calm. His calmness was a high not even I could understand. He had to stay wet at least for an hour to go through the day without freaking out. It was a good thing the pool was here.

The strange part was he couldn't go out in the sun without covering up. Hence, the turtle neck shirt and gloves. Yet, he could swim in his boxers in the sun for hours without getting hurt. It was all intriguing
