Chapter 43: A care free conversations

The week spent in bed was the slowest I had ever endured. It felt like a month rather than a week, and I owe that to all my suffering. No one said it would be quick and easy.

"You missed dinner with the pack, so I'll make you something you'd like."

I smirked at him, finally able to loosen up a little now.

"I'm in the mood to eat seafood right now. Can you make one?" I asked him. I have been craving those foods rather than meat.

I know seafood is out of the menu in his pack. I feel like I want to play a bit with him and see if he'll do something.

He didn't smile at first until he noticed a smile on my face.

"Okay then, we'll go out."

I shook my head. It was just a joke. "That's alright; it's already late now. I'll find something in the kitchen to munch on."

He was already grabbing his keys off the desk and headed to the door, not even listening to me. Clearly, he had already made up his mind, and there was no change.
