Lucien's POV

It's been days since Adam and I entered the forest, and we've been killing witches in every coven we've come across. But they just keep coming, and it feels like we're fighting a losing battle. We're exhausted and overwhelmed, and I can't see an end in sight. "This is impossible," Adam says, panting as we run from one coven to the next. I'm not sure how much more of this we can take.

Half of the werewolves who joined us in the attack on the witches are dead, and the rest have gone back to the city, leaving just a few of us behind. I know I can't leave, I'm the alpha and I have a responsibility to see this through. But I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible.
