For days, Mercedes was on foot trying to put distance between her and her old town. Every minute and every second counted. She wondered if anyone found out about what happened a few nights ago. It felt so surreal. Mercedes felt at peace and relaxed for the first time. She was not scared or anxious that anything bad would happen and it was a strange feeling considering how people are at the hospital because of something bad. Crystal brought Mercedes fresh clothes since her's were torn. They were both silent, trying not to make the situation even worse. Crystal briefed Mercedes on what she had to know because she asked. She was said that her friend was going to leave and never remember. It was probably not a good idea to form an attachment with her. She couldn't help herself. Mercedes was just shy and sweet. Unlike like the females in her pack. Crystal was only treated well by the rest of them because she was mated to a Beta. If it wasn't for that, she wouldn't even be here. Every privilege she gets is because of her mate's status in the pack. Although she is grateful, it is not enough. She wanted people to like her for who she is not who she is with. Alexa was in a daze not knowing how Mercedes could intercept her magic. After all, she was just a human so how was she doing that. Felix had summoned all his pack members to the training grounds to address th if the new situation. Everyone was murmuring amongst themselves about what they thought their Alpha called them for. Some of them knew it was about the mysterious human girl they have seen around. They even heard she was rescued in the woods from a feral rogue. Now it would finally make sense. The following couple of days, Felix tried as hard as he could to avoid Mercedes. To be honest, it was not so hard because she spent so much time helping out at the clinic but he couldn't take any chances. But he was still concerned by the mysterious pull he felt for her. Her green eyes held more than meets the eye and he felt it in his bones.
