Chapter 66: The Dinner Date

"I'll take my leave," Lucas said as he dropped some files on the table. I nodded my head in approval, and he walked out of my office.

I let out an exasperated sigh and threw my head backward.

For the past three hours, I have been working non-stop so I was exhausted. I closed the laptop and dropped the pen on the table.

I looked up as the door creaked open. A smile appeared on my lips as my amazing and annoying brother, Derek, walked into my office.

I stood up from the chair as he rushed toward me. I opened my arms and pulled him into a tight hug. I ruffled his hair as he pulled away from the hug.

"Why didn't you inform me when you were coming?" I asked and punched his shoulder playfully.

He whined, and I scoffed.

"That's because I wanted to surprise you but unfortunately I helped your mate and you misunderstood the situation," he said and rolled his eyes at me.

I knew he was going to bring that issue up.

"Whatever," I scoffed and rolled up my sleeves.
