Nothing I did or said could jolt her out of her shock. She just sat there, staring into space. It didn’t even look as if she was thinking about anything. She doesn’t blink, her eyebrows don’t even twitch, she just stares, almost statue like.

Giving in, I call my brother. Somehow, he always seemed to get her to talk.

“Are you coming home yet? You’ve had her to yourself long enough!” He snaps when he answers.

“I need you to come to the flat!”

“What the fuck have you done?”

“I have done nothing, but Bree, she’s dead?”

“The human? What the fuck did you do, Jaxon?”

“Nothing, I swear. The cops were here a little while ago. Blue has to go and identify her in the next few hours, but she’s in some kind of shock and I can’t snap her out of it.”

“So you need my help?”

I roll my eyes and mutter yes through gritted teeth. As much as I hated to admit it, he had a knack of getting people to talk.

“I will be there as quickly as I can.”

“Don’t tell father.” I mutter as he hangs up the phone.
