72. Forces

ALPHA ASHER’S POV

I stand on a rise, overlooking the valley below. The sun is setting, casting a golden glow over the landscape. I raise my hand, cupping it around my mouth to amplify my voice, and call out to my men.

"Warriors of the Pack," I shout, my voice carrying on the wind. "Come forth and gather. Our mission is complete, and it's time for us to return home."

I hear a rustling in the bushes and the snapping of twigs as my men emerge from the surrounding forest. They come from all directions, their faces dirty and their clothes torn from the battles we've fought. They had dispersed to see if there were any survivors but it looked like there weren't any more survivors. The ones we found had already been taken to be treated immediately while Ryan's survivors were killed immediately. We couldn't afford to keep them alive or things would get out of hand. Especially as they were bought soldiers, they were capable of anything. And that's why I couldn't afford to trust any of them.
