Chapter Forty-Three (Isla)

The morning had gone by so slowly; I had showered, made, and remade the bed, looked for things that needed tidying, but there was not much in the sparse room and I ended up pacing back and forth, lost in my thoughts.

“Would you stop already? You are driving me crazy?” Daciana ordered.

Raising my brows, I replied, “You're crazy already. I can’t take credit for that.”

In response, she laughed, “True, but seriously, find something to do.”

Aside from the clothes and food that Anders had given me, my room was empty. Sighing, I sat down on the couch and watched out the window with my head in my hands as wolves came and left the castle going about their daily business, as I dozed here and there from boredom.

Maybe they should put me to work. I hate not having anything to do. I used to make my parents dizzy puttering about never sitting still. There was always something I had to do. Writing, drawing, cleaning, training, and playing my guitar were my main ones if I wasn’t hiking or hunting
